Therapy Tips

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET WELL?
Chinese 5 Element Theory basically states that if symptoms persist in one part of your body for too long, that organ or system will lean on another part of your body - and you'll develop new symptoms there.  If you remain unwell - this domino effect will keep going until you have an array of symptoms across the body.  The earlier you can get the right help - the shorter your recovery time.

PRIORITISE YOUR HEALTH

Those who are serious about getting well from a place of chronic illness will eat as well as possible - do gentle exercise that doesn't deplete the body and most importantly -  make resting a key priority.  This will provide your body with the energy it needs to heal.

Aim to drink 2-3 litres of filtered water per day.  Hydrate the environment your cells inhabit so that you're uptaking nutrients better and detoxing waste better.

Eat every 2-3 hours at a minimum - even if it's a few almonds or berries - to avoid adding stress to your body.

LOAD

Ill-health can result from physical and emotional load reaching a thresh hold where anything extra becomes a strain on your body - no matter how small (think the straw that breaks the camels back).

Some basic measures to alleviate load include reducing your exposure to:

* chemicals

* radiation

* heavy metals

* unfiltered water

ENERGY IS FUNDAMENTAL TO GOOD HEALTH

It's ALL about Fuel Tanks.  Burning the candle at both ends - whether this is professionally - domestically - or socially - will eventually catch up with you.  Getting and staying healthy means on a daily basis you aim to leave at least 30% of energy in reserve for your organs and systems.  If you completely deplete yourself and are always exhausted, your body has nothing to work with - that includes your immune system.  Do this and you'll cope better physically and emotionally.

EMOTIONAL AND THE PHYSICAL

If you're really suffering emotionally - you're likely to develop physical symptoms where you park this load.  The opposite is also true - if you're suffering physically - it's going to be harder to cope emotionally.  Calming yourself emotionally will help to improve your health.  Try mediation, yoga, walking in nature - whatever works for you in order to regulate your flow of adrenaline and calm your central nervous system.  Reducing physical strain will help you to cope better emotionally so do your best to take care of your body.  Notice what causes physical strain - for you it could be; cold, your dog, pollens, chemicals, mould, fragrances...

ACCEPT WHERE YOU'RE AT WITH YOUR HEALTH

Getting well means accepting where your health is at right now - and moving forward from here - not wishing your health is where it used to be or wishing it was somewhere in the future where things are sunnier.  Turning our back on our physical body because it's a source of pain and discomfort takes us further away from recovery.  To get well we need to remain connected with BOTH our emotional and physical bodies and open our hearts to the full breadth of our own rich resources.
